What a useful issue comment looks like after your first triage shift
Useful comments name what you verified. "I reproduced on Ubuntu 24.04 with Node 22" beats "works on my machine" because the maintainer can map it to their matrix.
They also separate facts from guesses. If you think two issues are duplicates, link both threads and say what matches and what still differs. If you are unsure, say that too.
We encourage a closing path. If you need logs, ask for one specific file. If you need a smaller repro, describe what "small" means in that repository. People who are new to open source often freeze when asked vague questions.
We end triage shifts with a five-line internal note. That note is not public; it helps the next triager avoid re-reading eighty comments. The habit is small, but it compounds.
